The Broadcast so Far

The House promo made the rest of pre-game show worthwhile.

Update: Wow. What a poor camera angle on the first pitch. It looked like Obama threw a good one, but you couldn’t see Albert catch it.

Definitely a poor camera angle. I was also irritated by the camera work on Musial…his own closest relatives wouldn’t be able to tell you for sure that it was him and not some random older guy they picked up somewhere.

Yes, they should have done what the Red Sox did with Williams ten years ago. They had Gwynn prop up Ted so he could throw the ball. They should have had Pujols help Stan stand there so The Man could throw out the first pitch. I understand, however, that Fox got to up their ad prices with Obama there. Stan gets the shaft so Fox can make a few more dollars.

RE: Musial throwing the first pitch. Did he want to? I recall Bob Feller saying he didn’t want to throw a first pitch if he couldn’t do it anymore from the mound. Obviously money played a big role in not having Musial throw out the pitch, but I wonder if Musial would have liked having to be held up to throw the ball anyway.
