Players A to Z, Jason Bergmann

Jason Bergmann pitches in relief for the Washington Nationals. He bounced between starting and relieving his first for seasons in the majors, but settled into a relief role in 2009. That despite pitching better as a starter over the course of his career. The tripod of pitching, strikeouts, walks and home runs, is not very stable for Jason. His K rate is fine, but his walks tend toward one every other inning, and he gives up a lot of long balls, 32.5 per 200 innings. If the Nationals could limit him to just facing right-handed batters (see link above) he’d be okay.
