The Evil Player program selected Konrad Schmidt as Friday’s evil player. Schmidt is perfect. A little too perfect. He came to the plate once this month and drew a walk. For that, he’s sat on bench for 10 days. Despite very good minor league OBPs, he seems to be languishing in the minors, just getting to AA at age 25. There must be some evil keeping him down. I suspect he’s not a very good defensive catcher, but this seems to indicate otherwise.
