Preston Mattingly received a promotion to become the GM of the Phillies. He is a son of Don Mattingly:

Sam Fuld, the GM since December 2020, will share the GM duties with Mattingly. But Fuld is studying for his Master of Business Administration degree at the University of Pennsylvania’s Wharton School and will become the team’s president of business operations when he receives his degree in May 2026.

So Fuld is moving to the business side of the front office. Dombrowski appears to be preparing Mattingly to take over his role as president of baseball operations, as Dombrowski is likely to retire when his contract expires at the end of 2027. Mattingly will have a great teacher over the next three seasons. Throughout his career, Dombrowski did a great job of turning around teams quickly.
