If it stops raining in Boston, the Pirates are supposed to send Paul Skenes against the Red Sox and Payton Tolle in his MLB debut. Skenes owns a 2.07 ERA, up 0.11 runs from last season. That rise was enough for his record to go from 11-3 to 8-9. 🙂 Tolle blew batters away in all three levels of the minors this season. The seasonal age 22 prospect averaged 13.1 K per 9 IP with a walk rate of just 2.3 per 9 IP.

First place teams meet in Toronto as the Brewers send Freddy Peralta against Shane Bieber. Peralta goes for his 16th win as he tries to reach 20 wins for the first time in his career. He allowed just 106 hits in 147 2/3 innings. Bieber allowed just two hits in his six innings back from injury, one of them a solo home run.
