Friday featured three shutouts and nine blowouts. I define a blowout by a team winning by at least five runs. All three of the shutouts fell into the blowouts. The nine blowouts tied April 17 for the most blowout games this season.
With all the high scoring teams games averaged 11.1 runs per game, the highest scoring day of the season. With all that offense, Gerrit Cole and Joe Musgrove managed to carry no-hitters late into the game, and Shane Bieber lost his in the sixth.
We also saw seven multi-home run games, the most in a day this season. The previous high for a day was five. It was a night with something for everyone, sometimes in the same game!
