It appears that the Cleveland Indians signed Michael Bourn:
According to Jon Heyman, public face of Boras Corp, Scott Boras client Michael Bourn agrees to terms with the Cleveland Indians on a four-year deal worth $48 million, with an option for a fifth year that would push the deal to $60 million total.
All I can say is, what a steal. FanGraphs values Bourn’s base running and defense highly. If those numbers are anywhere near correct, Cleveland just pulled off the steal of the season.
Michael can thank the new CBA for his low salary.

The Indians only lose a 3rd round draft pick.
Wonder if they might go after Lohse since it will only cost them a 4th round pick and they still have their top 10 pick.
As for Bourns low salary, he does only have a career OPS+ of 90 and strikes out a lot. At best he is a league average hitter. Crawford may have hurt the value for guys like him whose primary value is speed and defense.
Tito has the makings of a decent lineup. I wonder if they move Reynolds to DH and Swisher to 1B given the surplus of OF’ers.
Maybe the gave Boras an Ultimatum to gain Supremacy. No one can say now what the Identity of this player’s Legacy will be.
James » LOL.
I’m glad the Mets didn’t get him by circumventing the rules.
I think he should have done a 1 year deal and try again next off season. 4-5 years in Cleveland isn’t exactly what I’d want.
