Harvard lost to Vanderbilt 79-70. Congratulations to the Commodores! Harvard trailed by 18 late, but fought back to a five point deficit, with under two minutes to play, but they could not finish the run. As I suspected, the big Vanderbilt front court was too much for the Crimson. Harvard did have it’s moments inside, but they also allowed three offensive rebounds in a row at one point, leading to a three point play. A defensive rebound right there might have turned the tide.

Harvard will return four starters next season, so maybe they can get back to the tournament in 2013. Playing well against a very good team should earn them a little more respect, so maybe in the future they’ll be seeded properly.
