Rockies Salvage a Game

The Rockies hold off the Marlins in the NL Wild Card race with a 7-3 win in the second game of the double header. Carlos Gonzalez hit his second home run of the day, giving him six on the season. In half the at bats he record with Oakland last season, he’s already hit two more home runs. His .285/.341/.517 line is a big improvement over his .634 OPS with the Athletics.

The Rockies held their 1 1/2 game lead over the Giants as they also lost two out of three over the weekend. The other teams crept closer, however, as Atlanta is three games out, pending the outcome of their rain delayed game with the Phillies, and the Cubs are 3 1/2 games out after being postponed today. It should be a fun race to the finish.
