Best Batter Today

Riley Greene of the Tigers used Friday’s highest game score, an 86 to vault into the top five of the Baseball Musings Batter Rankings. He went three for three with a walk and two home runs, but the Rays won the game 14-8. The bottom third of the Rays order went seven for fourteen with a walk and two doubles, driving in eight runs.

Greene moves into fourth place. Greene is on a nice eleven game hot streak in which he is hitting .372/.429/.744 with 17 RBI.

The second highest game score, an 83, came off the bat of the rankings leader, Cal Raleigh of the Mariners. He went three for three with a walk and two home runs in a 9-4 win over the Cubs. Aaron Judge of the Yankees broke his slump, going three for four with a walk and a home run in a 5-3 Orioles win. The AL East is now a tight four team race for the division. The Yankees have come back to the pack with the Astros and Dodgers pulled ahead in each of the Western divisions.

Matt Olson of the Braves fell to third place after one for four in a 6-2 Marlins win. Jose Ramirez of the Guardians went one for four with a double in a 5-1 Athletics win and sits in fifth place.
