The Sox will win today as Garrett Crochet of the Red Sox takes on Shane Smith of the White Sox. Crochet faces his former team with a 1.45 ERA in three starts for the Red Sox. While his strikeouts are down this season, so is his BABIP, now at .265. The balls in play against Crochet find gloves. The rookie Smith so far looks like a good replacement for Crochet, owning a 1.54 ERA. He has yet to allow a home run, but is just 11 2/3 innings into his career.

The Mariners and Rangers feature Nathan Eovaldi against Logan Gilbert. Eovaldi, at seasonal age 35, still fools batters as he K rate stands at a very healthy 9.6 per 9 IP. With only two walks allowed in 19 2/3 innings, the opposition owns a .208 OBP against him. Gilbert owns a 2.55 ERA in 17 2/3 innings. He walked three batters and struck out 25, but did give up two homers.
