Pulling Kershaw

Addison Russell pulls a Clayton Kershaw slider over the head of Andrew Toles in leftfield and the Cubs lead-off the bottom of the second inning with a double. The Cubs went the other way in the first inning, but they are pulling the ball here in the second. Albert Almora pulled a grounder to third, and Justin Turner made a nice play for the first out. The Cubs lead the Dodgers 2-0.

Update: Kyle Hendricks works the count full. He strikes out looking but made Kershaw throw seven pitches. Two down.

Update: Alex Rodriguez called this correctly in the pre-game show. He said the extra rest would cause Kershaw to throw very fast, but not have the command of the speed. So far, that has been the case.

Update: Dexter Fowler pulls a ball hard on the ground between third and short, driving in Ruseell for the third run of the game. Fowler, however, thought the throw was going through to the plate, and gets caught in a run down to end the inning.

The Cubs went the other way in the first inning and score, the Cubs pulled the ball in the second inning and scored. Kershaw might be out of options.
