    That’s baffling to me. If he had an exemption in the past it seems that he and his doctor and agent know the routine to get an exemption.

    It bothers me if MLB is going to play doctor.

    There were 116 exemptions last year meaning the prevalence of ADD in MLB would be much higher than in the general population (about 4% of adults). Players are obviously exploiting the loophole and I imagine if you don’t have a medical diagnosis of ADD before the loophole was put in place you are suspect, especially when you are in the late 30’s.

    Anyways, another aging soon to be free agent player, who is also hurt, gets suspended and the Royals are able to save on the rest of his salary which would have been earned on the DL list. This War on Drugs sure is profitable for MLB and owners.

    MLB probably thought they had to have a recent 100+ game suspension to present to the arbitrator.
