A Bible containing the signatures of the 1953 Pirates, a gift to Branch Rickey, wound up in a book repair shop.
“The Bible had been sitting in my shop for months waiting to get repaired,” said Murphy, 65. “No one wanted it.”
Ralph Kiner, Bob Friend, and Roy Face would be the most famous signatures in the book.
