Hiroki Kuroda pitched seven strong innings, David Robertson allowed nothing in the eighth inning, Mariano Rivera gave up a single hit in the ninth, and the Yankees squeak by the Orioles 2-1. Two good starts in a row by New York pitchers gives the back of the bullpen a needed breather and moves the Yankees 1/2 game behind the Orioles, and maybe 1/2 game out of first place depending on the outcome of the Rays game. New York fans would love to see this pitching trend continue.

But Hughes is pitching today, and then Phelps or god knows who, so the pitching trend will not continue.
Robertson struck out the side in order, by the way. Maybe he will make the transition to the post-Mo era bearable.
