Enough Offense

The Marlins hit two home runs Wednesday night, one from Hanley Ramirez and one from Logan Morrison. That was all they would need as Ricky Nolasco spun a shutout against the Oakland Athletics. Ricky pitched to contact as 28 of the 33 batters he faced put the ball in play, but the equally weak A’s offense could only muster five hits.

With a 4-23 record in June, the Marlins need to win tonight to beat the Phillies 4-22 record of June 1997.
