Verlander in the Ninth

Justin Verlander comes out for the ninth with a no-hitter on the line. He walked one batter in the eighth but erased him on a double play, so he’s faced the minimum. The Tigers lead the Blue Jays 9-0 after scoring two in the top of the inning. Verlander is scheduled to face David Cooper, John McDonald, and Rajai Davis.

Update: Cooper pops up the first pitch to Scott Sizemore. One down.

Update: McDonald grounds a 1-1 pitch to the second baseman Sizemore, and he throws John out for the second out.

Update: Davis falls behind 1-2, fouling off two pitches. He works the count even, then strikes out swinging at an outside pitch, and Justin Verlander pitches his second no hitter!

At least the Toronto fans are being classy. A truly dominant performance. He was hitting 100 even in the end.
