Red Sox pitchers Daisuke Matsuzaka and Hideki Okajima believe their immediate families survived the massive earthquake that struck off the northeast cost of Japan and triggered deadly tsunami waves.
The players’ wives and children are in the United States. But both had concerns about their parents and others.
My daughter contacted her friends, and they are all safe but scared. The felt the quake in Sapporo.

Takashi Saito left Brewers camp but was able to contact his wife and daughters. Still trying to reach his parents: http://brewersbeat.mlblogs.com/archives/2011/03/quake_hits_near_saitos_home.html
