Seven in the Books

Jonathan Sanchez may be pitching a better game than Tim Lincecum pitched in the opener of the series. He’s shutout the Braves through seven innings on one hit and one walk while striking out eleven. He’s thrown 100 pitches, 65 for strikeouts. Tim Hudson pitched great as well, but leaves after seven innings losing 1-0. He allowed four hits and four walks, but it was the one extra-base hit, a triple, that led to the only run. Jonny Venters is on in the eighth for the Braves.

Update: The Giants get two singles in the eighth, but Venters strikes out the side and the Giants lead remains 1-0. The Braves have six outs to score at least one run.
