Yovani Gallardo returns from a stint on the disabled list with six shutout innings against the Pittsburgh Pirates. Given the Pirates recent offensive outbursts, that’s an excellent outing. Yovani gave up five hits and a walk while striking out five.

Prince Fielder hit his league leading 24th home run in the game. I thought Fielder might have a big home run year. He’s not threatening any records, but leading the league is still pretty good. The Brewers lead the Pirates 3-0 in the top of the seventh.
