Macier Izturis agreed with the Angels to a three-year contract worth $10 million. That appears to be a steal, as he generated over $6 million of value in each of the last four seasons. I’m surprised he didn’t take a chance with free agency next year, or FanGraphs is missing something about Macier’s value.
I like it. Izturis is more than a bench player and easily one of the best utility players in the game. Glad he’s locked up for two of his FA years.
Some Angel fans are reading more into this signing than they should. Some believe it will have some kind of impact on Howie Kendrick and/or Brandon Wood. I don’t see it that way. Just a solid addition that provides much needed depth.
