The Marlins keep spitting out the hook. Coming into this series with the Braves, the two teams were tied for second in the NL East. Florida won game one, then used three home runs Wednesday night to take game two and insure themselves second place even after the series finale tomorrow. The keystone power pair of Ramirez and Uggla both went deep, and Josh Johnson joined them with the second home run of his season and career. He runs his record to 10-2.
The Marlins season may still come down to their poor May in which they finished 11 games under .500. They’re 16 games over .500 in April, June and July.
