The AL Central race takes center stage early this afternoon as the Tigers host the Braves at 1 PM EDT and the Guardians visit the Twins at 2 PM EDT in the first game of a split admission doubleheader. None of the pitching matchups are particularly compelling, but today will even the number of game left for both Detroit and Cleveland. The Guardians hold the tie-breaker with the Tigers right now, leading the season series 6-4 with three games left between the clubs.

The AL West battle resumes tonight with the Mariners sending George Kirby against the Astros and Framber Valdez. Seattle leads Houston by one game in the division after a 4-0 victory Friday night. Kirby comes into the game with a 4.46 ERA, and pitched in a number of rough starts lately. Valdez stands 7-3 in 18 appearances against the Mariners in his career, owning a 3.22 ERA. This season, he allowed just one run in twelve innings.
