Luis Gil of the Yankees just completed six hitless innings against the Red Sox. He walked four and struck out four, pitching with a 2-0 lead. He’s thrown 93 pitches, and given his recent injury history, I suspect he won’t start the seventh inning.
Update: Fernando Cruz comes on to pitch the seventh inning for the Yankees, now leading 4-0.
Update: After two strikeouts by Cruz, Nate Eaton homers to break up the no-hitter.
