Pete Alonso returns to the top five of the Baseball Musings Batter Rankings after a one for two with a walk, hit by pitch, and double helps defeat the Nationals 5-0. Alonso posted a .343/.421/.776 slash line in his last 17 games to move him up to fifth on the list.
Aaron Judge of the Yankees remained in first place with a one for four with a walk in a 6-3 win over the Royals. That included his 25th home run of the season. Cal Raleigh of the Mariners, in second place leads Judge by one homer in the AL. Raleigh went one for three with a walk in a 5-2 Diamondbacks win.
Jose Ramirez of the Guardians posted a one for four with a double in an 11-2 win over the Reds. His hit streak goes to eleven. Manny Machado of the Padres rounds out the top five in fourth place after an 0 for 4 in a 5-2 Dodgers win.
Brent Rooker of the Athletics recorded the highest game score of the day, an 87. Rooker went four for five with a double and two home runs in a 6-5 Angels win. He raises his slash line to .276/.342/.498. The A’s have a solid top of the order, especially if Jacob Wilson‘s injury turns out to be minor.
