In his appearance as an opener, batters went 0 for 5 with a walk and a K. Henderson owns a perfect career so far, 2-0 with a 2.45 ERA in two starts. He struck out 16 and walked two in eleven innings.

The Tigers send Tarik Skubal against Erick Fedde and the Cardinals. With all his other talents, Skubal has been tough to run on, as base stealers are two for four against him, and he picked off a runner. Fedde walks batters, but it appears to be willing to trade those times on base for fewer hits. Opponents are batting .228 against him. That prevents damage against his high .319 OBP.
