The Atlanta Braves made the following acquisitions during the off season currently on the 2025 25-man roster.
- Jurickson Profar, leftfield
- Nick Allen, infield
- Bryan De La Cruz, outfield
- Anderson Pilar, relief pitcher
Pilar, a rule five draft choice, is the only player on the Braves 25-man roster without MLB experience.
Profar is the only major addition. Leftfielders hit just .229/.278/.364 for Atlanta in 2024. The Musings Marcels put Profar at .241/.325/.377 for 2025. That’s a lot fewer outs, which will help expand the offense.
Allen and De La Cruz are both backups. Allen’s value lies in his defense. De La Cruz saw his WAR drop each season since his rookie year. He is declining at what should be the peak of his career.
Pilar looks pretty good. He owned a 2.86 ERA in his minor league career with good three-true outcomes. He should give the Braves bullpen some depth.
It what was a disappointing season for the Braves, they basically stood pat. We’ll see if some of the off seasons by their stars correct themselves in 2025.
