Boston plays the final home opener of the season as the Orioles send ace Corbin Burnes against ace hopeful Brayan Bello. Burnes is off to a great start. His 2.31 ERA is less than his FIPs, and he’s yet to walk a batter in 11 2/3 innings. Bello walked just one batter in his first ten innings this season, but three of the ten hits against him went for home runs. He is a relatively low strikeout pitcher, so the Fenway defense will need to be excellent behind him. Balls in play in that yard easily find walls.

The Astros visit the Royals with Cristian Javier facing Cole Ragans. Javier pitched around trouble so far in 2024, issuing six walks in eleven innings but not allowing a home run. He has yet to allow a run. Ragans owns a 1.46 ERA as he K’d 16 batters in 12 1/3 innings in 2024.
