The top four in the Baseball Musings Batter Rankings remain the same, but there is a new number five. Corey Seager of the Dodgers went 0 for 4 in game six of the NLCS, and he drops from fifth place to tenth place. Taking over the fifth slot is ALCS MVP Yordan Alvarez of the Houston Astros. He is a point ahead of his teammate Kyle Tucker. The two may move up in the standings if they play well in the World Series starting Tuesday in Houston.
The best game score of Saturday goes to NLCS MVP Eddie Rosario. His two for four with a walk and a home run was good for a 69. Dodgers manager Dave Roberts talked about the difficulty of pitching to Rosario:
“We just couldn’t figure him out,” Dave Roberts, the Los Angeles manager, said. “He beat us the other way. He beat us to the pull side. He got hits off lefties, off righties. We tried to spin him. We went hard. We just didn’t have an answer for him and when you’ve got that big guy looming behind him it’s just kind of tough to pitch around him.”

Congratulations to Rosario on his outstanding run. He now ranks 33rd on the list.
I’ll note that both the Braves and Red Sox traded for injured players, Rosario and Kyle Schwarber. Both bets payed off nicely.
