The Dodgers help the Braves as Los Angeles beat the Mets 4-1. Dodgers first baseman Max Muncy takes an 0 for 4 to land in fourth place in the standings. Paul Goldschmidt of the Cardinals goes two for five with a double to wind up in fifth place. He’s hitting .349 with a .397 OBP in August.
The highest game score of the day goes to Brandon Marsh of the Angels, a 74. He goes three for five with two triples and a walk in the 13-10 win over Detroit. Marsh now has eight extra-base hits in his young career, none of them home runs.
