The Orioles beat the Marlins 10-4 Sunday afternoon, ending a nine-game losing streak. The win was their 20th of the season, the last team in the majors to reach 20 wins. Long-time reader Devon Young writes:
I got curious about their upcoming schedule. It looks like brutal torture…….
The Orioles Next 25 Games (June 19 – July 12)
3 games @ Washington (15-16 home record, but 12-7 of that is since Apr 28th)
3 games @ Atlanta (20-13 home record)
4 games vs Mariners (21-12 road record)
3 games vs Angels (21-15 road record; 1st game of this series will be Baltimore’s 81st game)
2 games @ Philadelphia (22-12 home record)
4 games @ Minnesota (17-17 home record)
5 games vs Yankees (26-10 at home)
1 game vs Phillies (14-20 road record)Notes:
The records don’t include today’s games.
The O’s went 1-2 in Minnesota at the beginning of the season, but were outscored 15-5.
Of course, if they manage to go 13-12, it would be a great moral victory for the team. It tough to believe that they will continue to play .275 ball, MLB teams tend not to be that bad.

I realized the other day that the 2018 Orioles have almost the exact same record as the 1988 Orioles. Through 70 games now the 2018 Birds are 20-50. The 1988 team was 19-51. The 2018 team hasn’t lost 21 in a row (at least not yet) so they haven’t announced how bad they are as forcefully as the 1988 team did.
NPB Card Guy » That 1988 team finished 54-107, which is terrible but not horrible.
