Cubs Fight Back

After the Dodgers scored two runs in the top of the eighth, Ben Zobrist leads off the bottom of the eighth with a double up the right-center alley.

Update: Addison Russell grounds out to third, and Zobrist holds second.

Update: The Dodgers intentionally walk Jason Heyward to pitch to Javier Baez. This should be interesting.

Update: Baez flies out to right on the first pitch. Two down.

Update: The Dodgers intentionally walk Chris Coghlan so that Aroldis Chapman‘s spot in the order comes up. The Cubs send up a pinch hitter, and the Dodgers force Chapman out of the game. Miguel Montero gets the call.

Update: Montero fall behind 0-2. He takes the next pitch into the seats for a grand slam! Wow.

Update: Fowler follows with a home run to right as well, and the Cubs lead 8-3.

Dave Roberts might be thinking right now, “This is what Billy Beane means by his shit not working in the post season.” 🙂

Update: The Cubs keep the hits coming as Kris Bryant doubles to left-center. Joe Blanton is out of the game.

Update: Anthony Rizzo pops out to end the inning.
