Brian Dozier extended his hit streak to ten games Tuesday night, with a home run, his fifth during the streak. He is on fire in May in general, leading the Twins in slugging percentage as the team is scoring 5.8 runs per game in month. That is a big part of their 12-5 record.
For the season, Dozier’s batting average and OBP are a bit better but in line with his career numbers. His power is up, with 19 of his 39 hits going for extra bases. He was always a good doubles hitter, increasing his home run total in 2014. It looks like at age 28 he improved a little more, and may end up one of the better slugging middle infielders in the game.
The Twins beat the Pirates 8-5.
