Not Melk?

The Giants record stands at 13-6 since Melky Cabrera‘s suspension. One might suspect that the pitching was better in that period, but the starters own a 4.82 ERA.*

*This despite extremely good strikeout and walks rates. They have given up some home runs, however.

The Offense scored 99 runs, 5.2 per game. For the season as a whole, the team has scored 4.4 runs per game. It seems the regulars and semi-regulars figured out how to get on base, with the results a team .330 OBP during the last 19 games. They were at .324 before Melky’s fall from grace.

I tend to think of Giants as a weak offensive team that scores enough runs to support a good pitching staff. Since Cabrera’s suspension, however, they turned that around, with the hitters supporting a struggling starting staff. If the offense had taken the expected hit, they Giants would be in a ton of trouble.
