The Toronto Blue Jays defeated the Kansas City Royals 8-5 Tuesday night. Adam Lind and J.P. Arencibia combined to drive in five runs as each hit his tenth home run of the season. Toronto is hanging in the AL East race as the win moves them 3 1/2 games behind the Yankees and Red Sox.
Eric Hosmer collected two more hits for the Royals, raising his slash line to .310/.348/.496. That’s much better than Kila Ka’aihue hit in his time with KC this year, but the Royals were 13-10 when Kila played, 9-21 with Hosmer. Any improvement he brought to first base seems to be lost by the rest of the team.
