With the Rockies losing Monday night, there’s only one tie that matters, but it’s a good one. The Braves, Giants and Padres have a good chance of tying for the NL West title and Wild Card. The Padres loss to the Cubs, while hurting their overall chances of making the playoff, helped the massive tie scenario. This is the current 92 win outcome:
- San Diego Padres 5-1
 - Atlanta Braves 4-1
 - San Francisco Giants 4-2

The Padres and Giants now have the one-game difference needed the possibility of their three-game weekend series ending in a tie. What I continue to like about this group is that all can have really good weeks and we can still get the tie. The probability of this tie is now down to 1 in 19. Click on the chart for a larger view:
As long as San Diego and San Francisco can stay one game apart, we’ll have a pretty good chance of a tie going into the weekend. For today, the best result would be all three teams winning or losing together. Atlanta and San Diego winning while the Giants lose would not be terrible, but then we would need to get separation between the Giants and Padres again at some point.
