Major League Baseball is selling ticket futures. I think this is a great idea, a way to make money while ensuring fans don’t have to pay exorbitant prices at series time. Of course, Yoonew.com was doing this for a couple of years ago, and you could make money trading them. Of course, once you buy these ticket futures, there’s nothing to stop you from selling them for a profit at series time.

I’m all for dynamic pricing of tickets, and this is a step in the right direction.

Update: It seem Yoonew went under earlier this year when the bank holding their money collapsed.
