Cardinals Nipped by the Bud

Bud Norris continued his dominance of the Cardinals Thursday afternoon, allowing one run over eight innings in a 4-1 Houston win. Norris held a 5.49 career ERA coming into the game, but this was only the second run and first earned run he allowed against St. Louis. In four starts covering 26 innings, he’s 4-0 with an 0.35 ERA, 18 hits, nine walks and 25 strikeouts. I’d say he has the Red Birds number.

The Astros sweep the Cardinals, and their lead is down to 0.5 games in the NL Central with a three game series against second place Cincinnati coming up. That should be fun.
