The Phillies visit the Reds with Taijuan Walker facing Andrew Abbott. Walker’s ERA improved from 7.10 last season to 3.53 this year in about the same number of innings. He greatly cut down on his home runs allowed, although it is still a weakness. Abbott ERA drop of about 1.40 runs also comes from limiting home runs, 1.63 per 9 IP in 2024, 1.01 per 9 IP in 2025.

Ryne Nelson of the Diamondbacks tries to stop Nathan Eovaldi and the Rangers. Nelson pitched better as a starter this season, with a 2.75 ERA in 75 1/3 inning versus a 4.50 ERA in 26 innings as a reliever. Eovaldi is having an historic season with a 1.38 ERA coming into the game. While he pitched extremely well overall, he steps it up with men on base for a .156/.205/.237 opposition slash line.
