With the Dodgers still leading 4-1 in the bottom of the seventh inning, Shohei Ohtani walked and tried to steal second base. The Yankees threw him out, but he appears to have injured his left hand. He clearly experienced pain as he lay on the field, and the arm was hanging a bit was he walked off with the trainer. We’ll see how serious that slide hurt him.

I thought the steal with a three run lead was a bit unneeded. Mookie Betts is perfectly capable of driving in Ohtani from first, especially with two out.

Update: The broadcast reports the injury is to the shoulder.

Update: The Japanese news reports Ohtani popped his shoulder out, as they made out what he said coming off the field.
