The Guardians continue their series in San Diego with Cal Quantrill taking on Blake Snell. Quantrill goes for ten wins in a season for the first time. His ERA is up about 0.9 runs compared to 2021. His K rate fell dramatically, leading to a higher rate of hits and home runs. Snell pitched well since the start of July, 5-1 in that time period with a 2.42 ERA. He struck out 74 in 48 1/3 innings.

Zac Gallen leads the Diamondbacks against the Royals and Brady Singer. Gallen did a nice job recovering from a poor 2021 in which he posted a 4.30 ERA. He dropped that to 2.78 this season. If he keeps that under three, he will have posted ERAs in the twos in three of his four MLB seasons. Singer greatly cut his walk rate to pull his ERA below 4.00 for the first time in a season, now at 3.27.
