The Brewers designated Lorenzo Cain for assignment on Saturday. He seemed to take it well:
He was already talking about retiring:
Cain produced an unusual career. He came up somewhat late, not make the majors until his seasonal age 24 season. He peaked late as well, with his best seasons from 2013 to 2018, his seasonal age 27-32 seasons. It’s almost like he lied about his age in the wrong direction. He hit .294/.354/.422 in that time, power not his strong suit. He collected 29.9 rWAR in that time, and 11.6 of that came from his defense.
In his age 36 season, Cain owns a pitcher’s batting line. He had a fine career, and it’s sad to see it end.

Ten years, so he’s fully vested for his pension.
