Mookie Betts of the Dodgers once again tops the Baseball Musings Batter Rankings. Monday was an off day for Los Angeles, and that gave Michael Conforto of the Mets a chance to gain on the leader. Conforto posted a three for six night with a double as he moves into second place, 1.2 points behind Betts. The Phillies beat the Mets in a close slugfest 9-8, taking 10 innings.
One point back in third place sits Trea Turner of the Nationals, dropping after a one for four night in a 6-1 win over the Rays. The White were also off, leaving Jose Abreu one point back in fourth place. Marcell Ozuna of the Braves goes 0 for 4 for fifth place as the Marlins beat Atlanta 5-4, also in ten innings. Miami is now tied with the Giants for the two wild card slots.
