Bad News Mets

The new Mets regime may not be avoiding the injury bug:

It turns out strep throat was the least of Jacob deGrom’s concerns.

The Mets ace won’t make his pushed-back start on Saturday, after all. Instead, deGrom flew to New York on Friday and will undergo an MRI exam on Saturday on his right elbow, which was “barking” after playing catch on Thursday, manager Mickey Callaway said.

“We’re not sure exactly what it is so we wanted to get it checked out,” Callaway said. “Just a little tender in the elbow. We don’t know if it’s from general fatigue, so we’re just being overly cautious at this point and making sure we take care of him.”

I hope for deGrom’s sake it is just fatigue.
