With major league teams going through trading frenzies this off-season, Baseball Musings takes a look at the players added by each team this off-season, continuing with the Miami Marlins. The Marlins brought in the following players from other organizations:
- Preston Claiborne, p
- Aaron Crow, p
- Dee Gordon, inf
- Dan Haren, p
- Mat Latos, p
- Michael Morse, of/1b
- David Phelps, p
- Martin Prado, utl
- Andre Rienzo, p
- Miguel Rojas, ss
- Ichiro Suzuki, of
The Marlins did not get much production from the right side of the infield in 2014, so they brought in Dee Gordon and Michael Morse to shore up that area. Morse gives the team another power threat to complement Giancarlo Stanton. The pitchers they acquired don’t do much for me, although I suspect Mat Latos could be a veteran influence on a great young staff. Dan Haren could do the same, except it seems he doesn’t want to pitch in Miami.
The major changes were changes that needed to be made. This should be a better club.
