Cy Morong notes that Mike Trout‘s season now ranks in the top 50 all time in terms of WAR.
He is at 9.9, tying him for the 47th best season with Ernie Banks (1959) and Rogers Hornsby (1927).
That’s pretty good company.
By the way exactly how many Rogers was Hornsby? 🙂
He is now at 10.0 and is tied for 41st. But Fangraphs has him at “only” 8.5, which is still 1.3 more than the next best player, Braun.
