Good Year for the NL

The American League defeated the National League in interleague play, winning 131 games while the NL took home 121 wins. That was the best showing by the NL since 2004, when the AL won 127-125. The NL last beat the AL in 2003, 137-115. This is the third straight season the NL improved against the AL. The NL was a bit lucky, however, as the AL outscored them on a per-game basis 4.26 to 3.94. Those numbers predict the AL should have won 136 games, which would have been an improvement for the American League.
