Jaime Garcia continued his dominance at Busch Stadium as he pitches the first shutout of his career. He lowers his ERA to 1.55 at home as the Cardinals blow out the Giants 9-0. He was close to perfection with a three-hit, no walk game, and two of those runners were erased on double plays. Opponents are batting just .224 against him in St. Louis.
The Giants and Cardinals are both two games behind Philadelphia in the wild card race, although St. Louis, with fewer losses, owns the better winning percentage. Of course, that means they’ll play more games down the stretch, with less rest for their players.

Garcia. Not Garica.
