The Cubs and Brewers are tied for first place in the NL Central as Chicago sends Matthew Boyd against rookie sensation Jacob Misiorowski. Boyd is in the second season of a career turn around during which time 13-5 with a 2.33 ERA. Misiorowski makes the seventh start of his career, and he already struck out 40 batters in just 29 1/3 innings.

The Nationals send Brad Lord against Framber Valdez and the sliding Astros. Lord had a tough transition to a starter so far. His ERA stands at 4.15 versus 2.79 as a reliever. Valdez, at 11-4 has won at least 11 games five seasons in a row. He owns a .660 winning percentage since the start of the 2021 season, along with a 3.02 ERA.
