Luis Gil started for New York and pitched six shutout innings for the win, allowing a double to Cody Bellinger. Bellinger reached base three times; all other Cubs reached twice. Yankees pitchers recorded 13 strikeouts, as the Cubs didn’t put the ball in play much on the afternoon.
